As Founders of TAMIS and Pioneers in Robotic Surgery, We’re Leading the Field in Colorectal Care.

The colorectal surgeons at the Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery are trained in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery for the colon and rectum. In 2009, Drs. Albert, and Atallah developed the revolutionary technique called TAMIS, which has now been adopted nationally and internationally. Learn more about TAMIS.

Academics and surgeon training are also important at the Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery. Each physician has faculty appointments and is responsible for the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and visiting doctors. In 2010, together with Florida Hospital, the Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery founded an ACGME-accredited fellowship in colon and rectal surgery.
